These are sections of palm fronds taken in the early evening. I think the way the series of vertical lines draw your eye up and down the photo are interesting.

This is the banana tree in my backyard. Bananas grow just about everywhere in the Bahamas and there are several different varieties. This one takes ages to ripen, but at least I know they're organic.
The rain stopped long enough for me to take a few close up shots of a flowering bush in my front yard.
"Success isn't about achieving something in the future, but about doing something you love right now." ~ Leo Babauta I've loved photography since I was a teenager, that was quite a while ago. I used to dream of being a National Geographic photographer / writer. Although my life took me on a different path many years ago, I still dream of being a photographer / writer. So instead of waiting for some big opportunity to present itself, one step towards doing something I love was to start this blog. Hopefully it will lead to more opportunity, more action on my part. For now, it's a project to take more pictures, be more creative and get my work "out there". To create my awesome life. Cliche, but you've got to start somewhere. If you have a comment or "Like" my posts, I'd welcome the feedback. I love flowers. They make me happy. The way they look, the way they smell and the variety. They're beautiful, and I think surrounding ourselves with what we find beautiful greatly increases our happiness.
These are my friend, Susan's, orchids. I love the way they contrast with the color of her house. |
